TIMELESS NAMIBIA ITINERARY:
DAYS 1 & 2, Monday & Tuesday - Depart for Windhoek, Namibia
Depart from home on Monday.
Explore Windhoek, where history and beauty merge in quaint
architecture, charming streets and gardens. Visit the seat of
government and the Christuskirche church, whose spire is a town
landmark.
DAYS 3 & 4, Wednesday & Thursady - Sossusvlei
An array of exotic desert plants, animals and massive dunes
await, as you head into the Namib Rand Nature Reserve in
four-wheel-drive vehicles. Our lodge, built into rock at the
foot of a mountain in the heart of the Namib Desert, features a
high-powered telescope providing a crystal-clear view of the
galaxy.
DAY 5, Friday - Swakopmund
Fly over the dunes to the Atlantic coast, discovering
diamond camps and Namibia Coast shipwrecks on the way. Explore
Swakopmund, known for its old-world charm, and enjoy a cruise to
observe a seal colony.
DAY 6, Saturday - Damaraland on the Skeleton Coast
A uniquely scenic area, Damaraland is home to Namibia's
highest mountain, open plains and grassland. Watch for
elephants, black rhinos and lions, as well as birds, reptiles
and plants on a game drive.
DAYS 7 & 8, Sunday & Monday - Serra Cafema Camp on the
Skeleton Coast
A remote camp in Southern Africa, Serra Cafema shares this
region with the nomadic Himba people. Catch sight of springboks,
ostriches and oryx as you traverse the dunes. Cruise the Kunene
River valley, and enjoy a visit with local Himba families, who
share their stories and traditions.
DAYS 9 - 12, Tuesday - Friday - Etosha National Park
Go on safari in Etosha, one of the most unique wildlife
viewing parks in Africa. A saline desert, the plain sometimes
appears as a shimmering mirage. Watch for elephants, lions,
wildebeests, zebras, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes and more.
