                  COSTA RICA FOR TEENS
COSTA RICA FOR TEENS ITINERARY:

Day 1 Depart U.S. / Arrive San Jose

Days 2-3 Sarapiqui Rainforests
Rafting, Hiking, Swimming, Photography.

Explore the trails of the enchanting La Paz Waterfall Gardens, and then continue on to your lodge for a hike with a naturalist guide to the natural pools and cascades that flow from forested hills nearby.

Explore the Sarapiqui River on a wild whitewater rafting trip or opt for a slower paced float trip. In the afternoon, we’ll have a lesson in photography and learn about composition and lighting. Alternatively, parents can relax and or swim in our hotel’s pool. B, L, D

Days 4-5 Tortuguero National Park
Wildlife Viewing, Boating, Jungle Kayak.

Travel to Costa Rica’s scenic Caribbean coast and explore the rich lowland rainforest of Tortuguero National Park, named for the endangered Atlantic Green Sea Turtle.

Explore the waters that run through the primary forest, seeking out local wildlife on boat expeditions.

Learn how to salsa and do the Caribbean twist. You better practice, because tonight we'll have our own Calypso dinner party with salsa dancing and fun Caribbean music. B, L, D

Days 6-8 Manuel Antonio National Park
Canopy Adventure, Nature Walks, Outrigger Canoe Trip

Flying to the Pacific coast, your home for the next two nights is nestled within one of the most pristine areas near Manuel Antonio National Park.

You’ll enjoy exceptional opportunities to view a variety of curious critters including coatimundis, agoutis, squirrel monkeys and sloths while walking the park’s trails that lead to white sand-beaches.

Explore the treetops of the rain forest on an exhilarating canopy tour. Secured to steel zipline cables with the help of our experienced guides, you’ll glide from platform to platform for a unique opportunity to see the forest from a bird’s eye view.

Today we’ll venture to jthe beach and learn how to surf. Patience is a virtue when learning how to get up on your board, but the payoff is huge. Your first wave will have you hooked!

Your final day in Manuel Antonio is free so you can enjoy the hotel amenities, pool, and beach at your leisure. Celebrate with a special farewell dinner. B, D

Day 9 San Jose / Return Home
Take a short flight back to San Jose this morning, where you'll transfer to the International Airport for your afternoon flight home. B

Friendly, tropical Costa Rica, a world leader in protecting natural resources, is the perfect spot for your family to explore the beauty and marvelous intricacy of the natural world.

Throughout this special adventure, we discover mountainside cloud forests, lush lowland rain forests and pristine beaches. We'll travel high in the rain forest canopy, an ecosystem all its own, and down at water level, rafting on the mighty Sarapiqui River.

On the Caribbean coast, we'll explore the still waterways of Tortuguero, a national park accessible only by boat. On the sunny Pacific, we'll enjoy the beaches and surroundings of Manuel Antonio National Park. And along the way we'll meet ordinary Costa Ricans, admirable people who honor, respect and work to maintain a harmonious relationship with nature.
