ALASKA INSIDE PASSAGE CRUISE ITINERARY:
Ages 8 and Up
Day 1 Arrive
Gustavus
Welcome to the 49th state!
Days 2-6 Cruising
Sea Kayaking, Wildlife Viewing
After an early breakfast get ready to meet new friends when you
board the Sea Wolf, your home for the next five nights.
Whales leap and breach, massive brown bears amble along rocky
shores, eagles soar against a backdrop of icy glaciers and
15,000-foot peaks. This is a landscape so awesome and powerful
it can render even kids speechless - at least for a moment or
two!
As the ship visits Point Adoulphus, Glacier Bay, Reid Inlet,
Dundas Bay, and Idaho Inlet you'll spend time kayaking the same
waters that humpback and orca whales, brown bear, sea lions,
seals and the elegantly dressed puffin call home. Watch for
porpoises and playful otters observing you as intently as you
are observing them. See fish spawning, and maybe even drop a
line for the evening's dinner!
On shore, family-friendly hikes will take you into mysterious
forests few visitors ever see. And in the evenings, after a
sumptuous dinner, you and the kids will bundle up in blankets
and sit on deck to experience the magic of nighttime waters in a
place where it never gets dark! B, L, D
Day 7 Cruising / Return to Gustavus / Fly to Juneau
Whale Watching, Farewell Dinner, Free Time
Our last morning on the Sea Wolf is spent whale watching
followed by a farewell lunch with our newfound friends. Don't be
surprised if you all keep in touch long into the future — that's
the way Thomson adventures are. We disembark and then take a
flightseeing plane to Juneau, enjoying a bird's eye view of the
Inside Passage. Enjoy your final night on your own exploring
Juneau. B, L
Day 8 Juneau / Onward
After breakfast move on to your choice of exciting
extensions – maybe Denali National Park, or the Kenai Peninsula
– or head back home. B

You slip into your kayak and start paddling, only to find you're
not alone. Twenty sea otters are paddling along with you.
There's the look on their faces - curious because, well, humans
are downright rare here. Then there's the look on your kids'
faces - even the teens - because Alaska is one of the most
"Wow!" places on earth, and they know it. And you know this
experience will be the stuff of shared family memories for years
to come.
Based in a small ship with access to places most tours can't go,
Thomson Family Adventures takes you deep into the bays, fjords
and wildlife-rich coastline of Alaska. Daily kayaking and short
hikes put your family front and center to experience the roar of
calving glaciers, the ethereal beauty of ancient forests and so
many curious critters you'll probably lose count, all in the
company of guides passionate about this awe-inspiring place.
You'll also have time on your own to explore Juneau with its
high-flying tram, glaciers walks, dog sledding and helicopter
tours

ABOUT THE SHIP |
The Sea Wolf (aka USS Observer) had her 97' hull laid in 1941 as
a US Navy Harbor minesweeper. In 1947 she was decommissioned
after serving as protection for San Francisco Bay. She is an
ocean-going boat and capable of carrying 12 passengers plus 6
crew in great comfort anywhere in the world.
She has many guest areas including a dining room, main viewing
salon and a covered aft viewing/dining deck. The aft deck is
enclosed in eisen glass and heated. There is a large outdoor
viewing deck behind the wheelhouse. The side decks are also
covered for your sightseeing comfort.
The ship carries binoculars as well as an extensive naturalist
library for guests to enjoy. Her crew are all knowledgeable and
eager to share their naturalist lore.
In addition, the ship carries 6 double kayaks for guests and 2
guide kayaks. Also available are 2 skiff's - a 21-footer with a
drop down bow for easy beach access and an inflatable.
The MV Sea Wolf is an incredibly stable vessel and the Alaskan
waters as a rule are glassy calm for a wonderful cruising
adventure.
