ITINERARY:
Day 1
Upon arrival in Lima, transfers will be provided to the
exclusive Miraflores Park Hotel, located in Miraflores, a
residential area with incredible ocean views; enjoy welcome
drinks upon arrival. You will then be escorted to a magnificent
ocean view executive suite, for a two-night stay. Spend the rest
of the day at leisure.
Day 2
After breakfast, spend the morning touring downtown Lima;
also know as "The City of Kings" considered since 1991 a World
Heritage Site for its magnificent colonial architecture. Lima is
currently the gateway to the rest of Peru. Thereafter enjoy a
visit to Enrico Poli’s private collection; an extraordinary
gathering of pre-Columbian and colonial art objects and one of
the best private collections of its kind in the world. Return to
Miraflores and go back in time at the casa Garcia Alvarado,
built in 1912 and recently recognized as a national heritage
building. The Alvarado house, located in the heart of this
traditional area is a living example of Republican architecture.
Enjoy a fabulous set lunch menu in this enchanting setting with
your host Ana Maria Garcia Alvarado, the owner of the house.
Relax for the remainder of this afternoon and indulge in a
soothing Bath Butler Service or simply enjoy Lima at your own
pace. In the evening delight your tastebuds with an extravagant
a la carte dinner at Poissonnerie, the Miraflores Park Hotel
signature restaurant, where you will be able to taste the
innovative fusion of Peruvian and European flavors that our menu
has to offer.
Day 3
This morning after an energizing breakfast, you will be
transferred to the airport, where you will take Lan Peru’s 320
Airbus on your one-hour flight to Cusco. On arrival, we have
arranged reception and transfer to the Hotel Monasterio, the
hallowed colonial San Antonio Abad seminary, built more than 300
years ago. You will be welcomed with a comforting cup of hot
coca tea and escorted to your deluxe room. Overnight in a deluxe
room with oxygen enrichment system to help you acclimatize to
the high altitude in Cusco (11,000 feet - 3,352.80 meters). A la
carte lunch will be served at the main courtyard. This afternoon
embark in a fascinating tour of the city of Cusco, you will
discover millenary buildings such as the Cathedral and the
Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun). This evening we will visit the
Archbishop’s private gold collection; afterwards dine in
Colcampata in a private residence overlooking the city of Cusco.
Day 4
Morning transfer will be arranged to Poroy; the Hiram
Bingham train station, twenty five-minutes away from Cusco. We
will then travel to Machu Picchu via the luxurious Hiram Bingham
train; enjoy brunch and mimosas on board. The train will arrive
at 12:30 pm in Aguas Calientes where the guides will take you up
to the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu by private bus. Upon
arrival check-in for a one-night stay at the Machu Picchu
Sanctuary Lodge located in a privileged area right at the
entrance to this magnificent site. Next on your itinerary is a
two-hour tour around the site, one of the most outstanding
archaeological wonders of the world. Upon returning to the hotel
enjoy an exquisite afternoon "English style tea" with an
assortment of fresh and hot drinks, petits fours and mini
snacks. Afterwards indulge into a replenishing massage session.
This evening dinner will be served at Tampu; the hotel’s
signature restaurant.
Day 5
Enjoy a magnificent dawn from this advantaged location and
get ready to embark on different activities such as climbing up
the Wayna Picchu or perhaps strolling through the hotel’s lush
orchid gardens. This afternoon enjoy lunch at Tampu Restaurant.
We will then transfer you to Aguas Calientes to travel back to
Cusco via the astonishing Hiram Bingham train. Enjoy a
sophisticated gourmet dinner on board. Upon arrival at Poroy, a
private transfer will await to take you back to the Monasterio
Hotel for a two-night stay in a deluxe oxygen-enriched room.
Day 6
We have arranged a private transfer for a full day at the
Sacred Valley, starting at the city of Chincheros, which still
keeps the infrastructure of a typical Inca town. On Sunday’s
enjoy the arts and crafts of a typical Andean market that
showcases unique souvenirs from the area; and experience the old
barter system still used by its vendors and buyers. Afterwards,
enjoy a specially prepared barbecue lunch amongst superb Andean
surroundings. To continue this magical journey we go up the
valley to Ollantaytambo (place offering hospitality to
travelers), the last Inca town that still keeps its original
architecture. In Ollaytantambo we can find original Inca houses,
natural water canals, and “andenes"; ancient terraces used by
the Incas for agricultural purposes. On the way back to Cusco,
we will visit the Sacsayhuaman fortress located north of the
city of Cusco, with spectacular views of the city. Back at the
Hotel Monasterio indulge in a luxurious twenty five-minute
massage that will make you feel as lavish as Incan royalty.
Tonight experience an unforgettable evening at the hotel’s
signature restaurant Illariy, enjoying an a la carte
candle-light dinner with soft music and the restaurant's
magnificent cuisine.
Day 7
Morning transfers to the airport have been organized for you
to board your 320 Airbus Lan Peru flight back to Lima, where an
ocean view executive suite has been prepared at the Miraflores
Park Hotel for a one-night stay. In the afternoon enjoy a visit
to Mari Solari’s private art collection and continue on a
personalized shopping tour in the bohemian and romantic district
of Barranco; with its antique republican constructions and artsy
shops. Or you may indulge in to a luxurious massage. Afterwards
dine in at Poissonnerie, the hotel’s signature restaurant, or
enjoy dining around in Lima in a selection of restaurants we
recommend.
Day 8
After enjoying breakfast, it's time for your organised
transfer to the airport, a member of our staff who will assist
you with your travel arrangements before you take your
international flight back home.
