ITINERARY:
Day 1: The Governor's Residence, Yangon, Myanmar
Arrive in Yangon for two nights at The Governor’s Residence
(Governor’s Room). In the afternoon, an orientation tour of
Yangon including the Sule Pagoda, the Karaweik stone boat and
the Shwedagon Pagoda.
Day 2: The Governor's Residence, Yangon, Myanmar
After breakfast at the hotel, the day is yours to enjoy at
leisure. Optional tours available locally.
Day 3: Road To Mandalay - Bagan
After breakfast, fly to Bagan and board the Road To Mandalay
berthed on the Ayeyarwady river.At Bagan more than 2,000 temples
and pagodas are scattered over an awe-inspiring plain beside the
river.After lunch, join the guide and visit some of the more
significant pagodas before watching the sun setting over a field
of glowing pagodas. Dinner and local entertainment on board.
Day 4: Road To Mandalay - Bagan and Mandalay
A guided exploration of some of Bagan’s local markets
selling wood carvings, longis and rattan goods.An optional
balloon flight or hire a horse-drawn cart and explore this
enchanting area on your own. Mid-morning cruise north towards
Mandalay and watch the fascinating river life glide by.
Day 5: Road To Mandalay - Shwe Kyet Yet
After lunch, arrive at the quaint village of Shwe Kyet Yet.
A guided tour of Mandalay, regarded as the centre of Burmese
culture and Buddhist learning. Dinner and local entertainment on
board.
Day 6: Road To Mandalay - Mingun and Sagaing
Travel by local transport to Mingun to visit the pretty
Hsinbyume Pagoda and the world’s largest uncracked bell. Return
by ferry for a late lunch. Later, visit Sagaing, considered to
be the living centre of the Buddhist faith in Burma and famous
for its silversmiths who still work in much the same way as
their ancestors did. Dinner and
local entertainment on board.
Day 7: Departure
An early breakfast before the transfer to Mandalay airport
for the onward flight to Yangon.
