Day 7 — Serengeti/Olduvai Gorge
Travel east to Olduvai Gorge where Louis and Mary Leakey discovered the remains of Homo habilis, regarded as one of the earliest humans. Learn about the finds at this site with Dr. Fidelis T. Tonight, Dr. Masao joins us for dinner.   Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge (B, L, D)

Then view the vast crater from above on a hike along the rim. Tonight, meet a local Maasai elder and make beaded jewelry with one of his wives. (B, L, D)

Day 9 — Ngorongoro Crater/Arusha

Serena Mountain Village (B, L, D)

Days 10 and 11 — Arusha/New York
Choose one of three activities — a tour of a coffee farm, a canoe safari in Arusha National Park, or a visit to the Mulala Women's Cooperative. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure before taking an evening flight home, arriving the next day. (B)
