Day 1 - Tokyo
Check-in to your deluxe hotel in Shinjuku, one of the city’s
best areas for dining and shopping. Keio Plaza Hotel
Day 2 - Tokyo
Discover the ancient and modern on today’s tour. Visit the
Imperial Palace Plaza and then explore Asakusa, one of Tokyo’s
oldest districts. Enter through the massive “Thunder Gates” into
the lively Nakamise Arcade and stroll to Asakusa Kannon Temple
before enjoying the beautifully landscaped grounds of the Meiji
Shrine. Meals B,D
Day 3 - Tokyo
A free day to make the most of your hotel’s prime location
close to sights, shopping and entertainment. From April to
November, you can join an available tour to Nikko, to see the
magnificent Toshogu Shrine. Meals B
Day 4 - Tokyo / Mt. Fuji / Hakone
Depart Tokyo and ascend halfway up the slopes of Mt. Fuji
for spectacular views. Enjoy a scenic cruise on Lake Ashi and
ride the cable car up Mt. Komoga-take. Tonight, dine at your
deluxe resort hotel overlooking the Pacific and then relax in a
soothing onsen, a traditional hot-springs bath. Meals B,D Hilton

Day 5 - Hakone / Mishima / Kyoto
Travel to Mishima and board the Bullet Train. Upon arrival
in Kyoto, transfer to your superior first-class hotel in the
heart of the city. Or, enjoy the hospitality of an authentic
Japanese inn with an overnight at the family-run Yoshi-ima
Ryokan with breakfast, dinner and a tea ceremony ($195 per

Day 6 - Kyoto / Nara / Kyoto
See Kyoto’s most enchanting sites: Kinkaku-ji, the Golden
Pavilion; the striking vermilion-hued Heian Shrine; and
Sanjusangendo Temple, with 1,001 images of Buddha. Then travel
to ancient Nara and visit Todai-ji Temple; Kasuga Shrine, famed
for picturesque pathways lined with stone lanterns; and Deer

Day 7 - Kyoto / Osaka / Oita / Beppu
Transfer to Osaka for your flight to Oita on the island of
Kyushu. Upon arrival, visit Mt. Takasaki Monkey Park, a scenic
natural habitat with more than 2,000 wild monkeys. Continue to
Beppu, a city renowned for its “Boiling Hells” – bubbling hot
springs of mineral-colored water and boiling mud. Check in to
your first class hotel with views of Beppu Bay and Mt. Tsurumi.

Day 8 - Beppu / Yufuin / Kumamoto
Drive to Yufuin and stroll through this charming resort
town. After visiting the Mt. Aso Volcano Museum, travel to the
West Crater of Mt. Aso by Ropeway. Geothermic conditions
permitting, a breathtaking cable car ride up the rim of this
unique double-cone volcano provides dramatic views of the
interior. Drive to Kumamoto and check-in to your deluxe hotel.

Day 9 - Kumamoto / Shimbara / Nagasaki
Visit Kumamoto Castle, an enormous black stone fortification
regarded as one of the greatest castles in Japan, constructed
with a defensively-ingenious “backward curve” wall. Cross by
ferry to Shimbara and visit the Samurai Residences, an ancient
town once inhabited by high-ranking warriors in the shadow of
Shimbara Castle. Tour a unique museum commemorating the eruption
of Mt. Fugendake, and then continue to your deluxe hotel in
Nagasaki, a cosmopolitan mountainside property not far from

Day 10 - Nagasaki
Tour historic Glover Garden, with gracious 19th century
homes built by British merchants on this picturesque hillside
overlooking the port. Then visit the Atomic Bomb Museum and
Nagasaki Peace Park – located just a few minutes’ walk from the
epicenter of the August 9, 1945 atomic bomb blast. The afternoon

Ideally situated between Mt. Tsunami and Beppu Bay, and built
along one of Beppu’s 8 natural hot springs, is the Suginoi
Hotel. The Suginoi allows its guests to completely relax in one
of 7 bath areas – including ones for families or those with
disabilities. 6 restaurants are offered, with 2 buffet meals/day
being included in the room fee. Comprised of 4 main buildings,
the hotel includes a number of amenities including a very large
heated pool area complete with water slide, sauna, arcade,
bowling alley, gift shop, live performances, and deluxe spa. The
Suginoi offers guest rooms in the traditional Japanese, Western,
and combination styles for the comfort of their guests, and each
