SANTA BARBARA BIKING ITINERARY
Trip Length: 6 days/5 nights
Start/Finish: Santa Barbara/Santa Barbara
Ah, southern California: land of picturesque vineyards, rugged
mountain trails, sleepy cowboy towns and fresh air by the
lungful. Wait… what? You read that right. There’s a place down
there that makes the Golden State truly live up to its lofty
nickname; where world-class wineries, first-rate biking routes,
sophisticated lodging and a positively balmy climate all live
happily ever after. Welcome to Santa Barbara.
On this trip, we’ll show you a slice of SoCal that most folks
never see. Gorgeous coastlines and pristine beaches, mountain
rides and lazy seaside strolls, bandit routes and palatial
estates, exquisite wines and a dazzling array of international
cuisines. Santa Barbara has it all, and then some. And best of
all, the locals believe in sharing the wealth.
Trip Highlights:
- Get in some great biking and take in the stunning views
of Los Padres National Forest
- Tour Solvang, a Danish oasis smack-dab in the middle of
Southern California
- Follow in the tire-tracks of Lance Armstrong to the
summit of Mount Figueroa
- Explore the stylish boutiques and stellar restaurants of
Santa Barbara’s back streets
- Wine and dine to your heart’s content with a patio
picnic at Rusack Winery

Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort, Solvang
The Alisal Guest Ranch and Resort is a premier property on a
10,000-acre working cattle ranch. It has remained a hideaway for
generations of families, couples and the famous since it opened
its doors in 1946. The Alisal features two 18-hole golf courses,
tennis, over 80 km (50 mi.) of riding trails and fly fishing on
its private, 100-acre spring-fed lake. Amenities include an

of the Pacific.” Built in 1927, this Mediterranean-style complex
has recently undergone over $60 million-worth of renovations.

10,000-square-foot spa, three tennis courts… all the amenities
