                     PROVENCE BIKING
PROVENCE BIKING ITINERARY

Trip Length: 7 days/6 nights
Start/Finish: Avignon/Avignon

Though it makes us feel old to say it, we’ve been pedalling through Provence since the 1970s. What’s incredible is that we are still awestruck by it; there’s just something magical about Provence.

As cyclists, we’re hard pressed to find rides more varied and dramatic. Here, the roads are bathed in a special kind of light, and every climb has its rewards. We pedal through vineyards and orchards, alongside lavender fields and to famous hilltop villages. We can’t get enough of boules at sunset with a pastis in hand.

We take you to the must-see Provençal sites, and our local friends guide us to little-known corners. Hard to believe – 36 years and we feel like we’re still discovering. That guy who spent a year here? He only scratched the surface.

Trip Highlights:

  • Tour St-Rémy and the landscapes of van Gogh with our guide Mathilde
  • Dine at Michelin two-starred Chez Bru in Eygalières
  • Ride through the breathtaking Gorges de la Nesque
  • Reward yourself with a divine dessert at Monsieur Boyer’s nougaterie
  • Ride through the ancient vineyards of the Côtes de Rhône by day, and taste their bounty by night
  • Opt to ride a “Century” up and over fearsome but spectacular Mont Ventoux
