QUEBEC WITH THE KIDS:
AGES 8+
Trip Length: 6 days/5 nights
Start/Finish: Montréal/Québec City
Québec’s diversity of land, language and culture ensures that
there’s more than enough fun for everyone, regardless of age.
From the agrarian pleasures of the pastoral Eastern Townships to
a private expedition in search of playful minke whales to the
historic sights and sounds of the walled fortress of Québec
City, this is where the natural and man-made worlds really come
alive. It’s a pretty big place, but don’t despair – we’ll make
sure you get to see it all, be it by bike, boat or seaplane.
Like any B&R With the Kids trip, parents and kids get to
experience the wonders of Québec both separately and together.
While the adults are biking a longer route or enjoying a
first-class meal, the kids are riding zip-lines or being
entertained by our guides. It’s win-win. Trip Highlights:
- Fly high over the majestic St. Lawrence River aboard a
our privately chartered seaplane that picks you up from the
front door of your hotel
- Walk the historic streets and battlefields of Old Québec
with expert guide Ladislav Kunderlik
- Sleep over at stately Manoir Hovey, a Relais & Châteaux
property in the Eastern Townships
- Kids visit a wilderness ropes course, complete with
zip-lines
- Jump in our Zodiacs and hit the water in search of
humpback and minke whales
- Bike quiet roads lining the Plains of Abraham, site of a
pivotal 1759 battle that changed the course of the
continent’s history

Accommodations:
Manoir Hovey, North Hatley
Relais & Châteaux
This property was a private summer residence before being
converted to a hotel just after the American Civil War. Tucked
away at the northern end of Lake Massawippi and mere minutes
from the galleries, antique shops and cafés of North Hatley, the
property has just achieved R&C status.
Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu, La Malbaie
This turn-of-the-century luxury resort, perched high above
the St. Lawrence River, is designed in the style of a French
château. This hotel has something for everyone: “le relaxarium
spa,” an 18-hole golf course, indoor/outdoor pool and whirlpool,
horse stables and mountain bike trails. There is even a mini
cinema--not to mention the spectacular Charlevoix Restaurant.
Auberge Saint-Antoine, Québec City
Relais & Châteaux
Travel + Leisure voted Auberge Saint-Antoine as one of its
Top 100 Best Hotels on the Planet, while Condé Nast Traveler
hailed it as “Canada’s Best.” This 94-room hotel doubles as an
archaeological museum, with artifacts thoughtfully incorporated
into its design. Located in the heart of Québec City’s Old Port,
facing the St. Lawrence River, we’ll enjoy rooms that meld
Québec traditions with modern amenities.
