Surely one of the most rewarding things about traveling with
kids is seeing a place through their eyes. There is almost
nowhere that experience is more poignant than in Normandy, where
WWII comes alive as we pedal to Arromanches and the German
Front, and walk along the landing beaches with a veteran of the
French Resistance.
Of course, Normandy owes its renown to more than its
distinguished recent history. There’s the fantastic food
(seafood, beef and cheese are among the specialties), the chic
seaside resorts, and the lush, sweeping landscapes that make
this one of our very favourite regions for cycling. And when
kids just need to be kids? Imagine sailing catamarans past
glorious Omaha Beach. Trip Highlights:
- Kids sand-yacht, horseback ride, and visit the Caen
Memorial Museum
- Bike the coast to Sword Beach, Arromanches and the
American Cemetery
- See the famous Bayeux Tapestry while kids take a sailing
class
- Pedal past châteaux, abbeys, quaint villages and more
major WWII sites
- Take a walk along the famous boardwalks before stopping
for moules frites

are lords and ladies of the manor. And what a manor: the
beautiful 16thC castle was designed to rival the best of the
Parisian style du jour. Its beautiful 60-acre park is full of
amenities for you to enjoy. Our evenings are spent exploring the
grounds or the many elegant salons before withdrawing to our
themed rooms.
