MOROCCO BIKING ITINERARY
Trip Length: 10 days/9 nights
Start/Finish: Ouarzazate/MarrakechWe believe a unique place like Morocco is best enhanced by
locals sharing their stories and lives. After more than a decade
of running trips here, we have developed a vast and exotic
network of friends who help provide insider access to this
magical place. You will meet: Abdelatif Nassiri, a native who
reclaimed and restored his family home from the 18th Centrury;
Laetitia Trouillet, a successful French designer; Mohamed
Bouskri, the official local guide for the American Embassy; and
Emma Wilson, a young interior designer from London now drawing
inspiration from life in Essaouira. From the bustling souks and
desert oases to the rocky plains, snowy mountains and lush cedar
forests, we will explore the best of Moroccan life in the
company of a wonderful cast of local characters.

Accommodations:
Berbere Palace, Ouarzazate
The Berbere Palace, now managed by the luxury Meridien
chain, offers by far the best accommodations southern Morocco
has to offer – a four-star by European standards. Built in
one-storey kasbah style, our suites are tastefully decorated and
very spacious, each with a private terrace and ensuite bathroom.
Palais Asmaa, Zagora
This charming hotel is a located just outside of the great
metropolis of Zagora (home to 15,000 inhabitants!). We think
you’ll enjoy the traditional accommodations and great
hospitality. Moreover, our hosts expertly take charge of our
night in the desert tomorrow-during which we keep our rooms
here.
A Night in the Desert, M’hamid
Our private Berber Camp in the middle of the desert is not
just magical and romantic--it’s also very comfortable. The camp
features double and twin private tents furnished with rich
carpets, warm blankets and very comfy beds, so you’ll sleep like
a Berber and a baby at the same time!
Kasbah Tamadot Resort, Asni
Once owned by an Italian antique collector and interior
designer, this unique mountain retreat is tucked away in the
fabulous Imlil Valley. Dominated on all sides by the High Atlas
Mountains and the Jbel Toubkal (the second highest peak of all
Africa at 4,167 m), it is surrounded by 20 hectares of beautiful
rose gardens, almond groves and fruit trees. The lodge also
features an incredible spa. Butterfield & Robinson is proud to
be the only biking company accepted by the property.
Sofitel Thalassa Mogador, Essaouira
With cool and spacious rooms, and stunning views of the
coast to be enjoyed from your balcony, this is the place to stay
in Essaouira. Beautifully designed and decorated, the hotel is
seconds from the beach and a five-minute walk to Essaouira’s
stunning city gates.
La Sultana, Marrakech
We stay two nights at the beautiful La Sultana. This palace
is formed by four riads with different character and charm.
Craftsmen and local artists worked three years to give this
property all the authenticity and luxury Morocco could offer.
Located in the heart of the medina inside the wall near the
Royal Palace in the Kasbah neighborhood. You can see and almost
“visit” the Saadians Tombs from the roof top! Your biggest
dilemma will be whether to wander into the souks or lounge
poolside with a long cool drink.
