DAY 1: USA or Canada/Lima, Peru
Arrive in Lima and transfer to your hotel. JW Marriott Hotel

DAY 2: Lima
Head to the countryside for a welcome lunch at a hacienda and an exhibition of the gaited Peruvian Paso horse. Return to Lima for a city tour. JW Marriott Hotel B L

DAY 3: Lima/Sacred Valley
Fly to Cusco and visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas. On the way you have the opportunity to visit Awanakancha, a center where South American camelids (members of the camel family) - llama, alpaca, guanaco and vicuña - are bred. After lunch, explore the fortress of Ollantaytambo before visiting a local family's home. Later, sharpen your skills with Spanish lessons specially designed to help you learn to speak key phrases. DAY 4: Sacred Valley
Visit the Inca town of Chincheros and learn to weave a basket in the home of a local family. Wander through colonial Maras, where a local resident demonstrates how to prepare a traditional maize beverage. Tonight, "make your own pizza" dinner and participate in an ancient Andean ritual of giving thanks to the Earth. Casa Andina Private Collection Hotel B L D

DAY 5: Sacred Valley/Machu Picchu/Cusco
Board the train for Machu Picchu, the magical "Lost City of the Incas." Explore the ruins and visualize the lives of those who inhabited this mysterious citadel. After lunch, return by train to Cusco, where the evening is at leisure. Hotel Monasterio B L

DAY 6: Cusco
Visit the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, whose walls are built of huge stone slabs so closely fi tted together that, as your guide demonstrates, it's impossible to insert a piece of paper between them. Explore the town's colonial section on foot with your guide before returning to the hotel for dinner and a presentation of the ancient music of the Andes by Kike Pinto, a regional expert. DAY 7: Cusco/Iquitos
Fly to Iquitos and relax before tomorrow's Amazon journey. Hotel El Dorado Plaza B L D

DAYS 8-9: Iquitos
Board a boat for the trip down the Amazon River to your rustic jungle lodge, where local guides are always ready to relate some of the many legends of the Amazon Forest. Visit the spectacular Canopy Walkway and Ethnobotanical Garden where a local shaman cultivates more than 140 medicinal plants. Ceiba Tops Lodge & Resort B L D

DAY 10: Iquitos/Lima
Continue your Amazon exploration and return to Lima for a farewell dinner. JW Marriott Hotel B D

Board your homebound flight. B
