DAYS 1-2: USA or Canada/Buenos Aires, Argentina
Depart by overnight flight to Buenos Aires and transfer to
your hotel. Elegant, old-worldly yet cosmopolitan and exuberant,
this "Paris of South America" still retains some uniquely
Argentine attributes, including tango bars and overflowing
kiosks. Join your guide to see some of the city's formidable
landmarks: Plaza de Mayo, the Casa Rosada, the Cabildo and the
Metropolitan Cathedral. Gather for welcome cocktails and dinner
at one of the best local restaurants in Buenos Aires, located

DAY 3: Buenos Aires
DESIGN YOUR DAY: Spend the morning pursuing the activity of
your choice. This evening's dinner and tango show are at Esquina
Carlos Gardel. Located on a traditional corner of the Abasto
neighborhood where Carlos Gardel used to sing every night, this
is one of the most elegant tango venues in Buenos Aires. Four

DAY 4: Buenos Aires/Patagonia
Continue south to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the
world. Embark on a short sightseeing tour of this former penal
colony turned busy port before boarding 'Via Australis' and

DAYS 5-6: Patagonia
Cruise to Cape Horn, where the Atlantic meets the Pacific at
the southern tip of the continent, and see the spectacular
"Avenue of Glaciers" and the Strait of Magellan. Daily programs
may change depending on weather and ice conditions, but wildlife
viewing is exceptional. Your on-board lecturers present informal
discussions on the flora, fauna, birds and history of the area.
You also have the opportunity to go by Zodiac to the solitary

DAY 7: Patagonia/Punta Arenas, Chile/Puerto Natales
Stop at Magdalena Island, home to an enormous penguin
colony, and walk to the lighthouse that guided explorers and
sailors passing through the Straits of Magellan. Later, visit a
typical Magellan farm for a traditional sheep shearing

DAY 8: Puerto Natales/Torres del Paine National Park
Look for guanaco and ñandú, as well as other local species
en route to your lodge, built on the shores of Lake Pehoé at
Torres del Paine National Park. The park is one of South
America's newest nature reserves and boasts the world's most
stunning array of mountains, glaciers, lakes and forest. As a
centerpiece of the rugged region, the hallmark granite cuernos
(horns) and torres (towers) thrust abruptly skyward from the
flat pampa. At their feet, the turquoise, emerald and aquamarine

DAYS 9-11: Torres del Paine National Park
Spend three full days of adventure in Torres del Paine
National Park in the heart of Patagonia. Explore by vehicle; on
horseback with sustainable trails providing access to places
unreachable by car; by boat, with trips across Lake Grey to the
namesake glacier; on Zodiac boat rides down the Serrano River;
and on foot, with treks ranging from easy walks to much more

DAY 12: Torres del Paine National Park/Puerto Varas
Return to Punta Arenas and fly to Puerto Montt in the Lake
District. Enjoy a brief orientation tour before arriving at your
hotel in Puerto Varas. Enjoy dinner this evening at one of A&K's

DAY 13: Puerto Varas/Bariloche, Argentina
Cross the Andes Lake District to Argentina by road through
scenic wilderness with stops at local villages en route. Then
board your private boat in Villa La Angostura by the shores of
Lake Nahuel Huapi to cross to Puerto Tunquelen, arriving in

DAY 14: Bariloche
Explore Bariloche's Alpine-like scenery of winding streams,
coniferous trees and snow-cropped peaks reflecting in
crystalline lakes. Visit the Llao Llao Peninsula, Lopez Bay and
the Cerro Campanario chairlift. The afternoon is at leisure
before a candlelit farewell dinner at a local restaurant. Llao

DAY 15: Bariloche/Buenos Aires
Head back to Buenos Aires to board your international
flight. B
DAY 16: USA or Canada
Arrive in the USA or Canada.

legend of Eva Perón, or shopping in one of Buenos Aires'
