       PATAGONIA: A LUXURY ADVENTURE
Connoisseurs Series with A&K

PATAGONIA: A LUXURY ADVENTURE ITINERARY:

DAYS 1-2: USA or Canada/Buenos Aires, Argentina
Depart by overnight flight to Buenos Aires and transfer to your hotel. Elegant, old-worldly yet cosmopolitan and exuberant, this "Paris of South America" still retains some uniquely Argentine attributes, including tango bars and overflowing kiosks. Join your guide to see some of the city's formidable landmarks: Plaza de Mayo, the Casa Rosada, the Cabildo and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Gather for welcome cocktails and dinner at one of the best local restaurants in Buenos Aires, located within walking distance of your hotel. Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires B D

DAY 3: Buenos Aires
DESIGN YOUR DAY: Spend the morning pursuing the activity of your choice. This evening's dinner and tango show are at Esquina Carlos Gardel. Located on a traditional corner of the Abasto neighborhood where Carlos Gardel used to sing every night, this is one of the most elegant tango venues in Buenos Aires. Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires B D

DAY 4: Buenos Aires/Patagonia
Continue south to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. Embark on a short sightseeing tour of this former penal colony turned busy port before boarding 'Via Australis' and setting sail for Puerto Williams. MV 'Via Australis' B D

DAYS 5-6: Patagonia
Cruise to Cape Horn, where the Atlantic meets the Pacific at the southern tip of the continent, and see the spectacular "Avenue of Glaciers" and the Strait of Magellan. Daily programs may change depending on weather and ice conditions, but wildlife viewing is exceptional. Your on-board lecturers present informal discussions on the flora, fauna, birds and history of the area. You also have the opportunity to go by Zodiac to the solitary beaches for an adventurous trek on land. MV 'Via Australis' B L D

DAY 7: Patagonia/Punta Arenas, Chile/Puerto Natales
Stop at Magdalena Island, home to an enormous penguin colony, and walk to the lighthouse that guided explorers and sailors passing through the Straits of Magellan. Later, visit a typical Magellan farm for a traditional sheep shearing demonstration en route to Puerto Natales. Hotel Costaustralis B L D

DAY 8: Puerto Natales/Torres del Paine National Park
Look for guanaco and ñandú, as well as other local species en route to your lodge, built on the shores of Lake Pehoé at Torres del Paine National Park. The park is one of South America's newest nature reserves and boasts the world's most stunning array of mountains, glaciers, lakes and forest. As a centerpiece of the rugged region, the hallmark granite cuernos (horns) and torres (towers) thrust abruptly skyward from the flat pampa. At their feet, the turquoise, emerald and aquamarine lakes provide the perfect contrast. Explora en Patagonia Lodge B L D

DAYS 9-11: Torres del Paine National Park
Spend three full days of adventure in Torres del Paine National Park in the heart of Patagonia. Explore by vehicle; on horseback with sustainable trails providing access to places unreachable by car; by boat, with trips across Lake Grey to the namesake glacier; on Zodiac boat rides down the Serrano River; and on foot, with treks ranging from easy walks to much more extensive hikes. Explora en Patagonia Lodge B L D

DAY 12: Torres del Paine National Park/Puerto Varas
Return to Punta Arenas and fly to Puerto Montt in the Lake District. Enjoy a brief orientation tour before arriving at your hotel in Puerto Varas. Enjoy dinner this evening at one of A&K's suggested restaurants. Meliá Patagonia B D

DAY 13: Puerto Varas/Bariloche, Argentina
Cross the Andes Lake District to Argentina by road through scenic wilderness with stops at local villages en route. Then board your private boat in Villa La Angostura by the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi to cross to Puerto Tunquelen, arriving in Bariloche this evening. Llao Llao Hotel & Resort B L D

DAY 14: Bariloche
Explore Bariloche's Alpine-like scenery of winding streams, coniferous trees and snow-cropped peaks reflecting in crystalline lakes. Visit the Llao Llao Peninsula, Lopez Bay and the Cerro Campanario chairlift. The afternoon is at leisure before a candlelit farewell dinner at a local restaurant. Llao Llao Hotel & Resort B D

DAY 15: Bariloche/Buenos Aires
Head back to Buenos Aires to board your international flight. B

DAY 16: USA or Canada
Arrive in the USA or Canada.
