Depart Quito this morning and visit the ruins of pre-Inca
pyramids - monuments to the religious beliefs of the Caranqui
natives. Continue to your hotel, a Relais & Châteaux property.

DAY 2: Cotacachi/Peguche/Cotacachi
Visit San Antonio de Ibarra, a nearby village famous for its
woodcarvings; Ilumán, well known for the felt Indian hats made
here; Peguche, home of the Otavalo carpet makers; and Cotacachi

DAY 3: Cotacachi/Otavalo/Quito
Embark on a short hike among the orchids at Cuicocha's
crater lake. Then travel to Otavalo, renowned for its friendly
people and their market, a gathering that has occurred here
since pre-Incan times. Late this afternoon, return to Quito.
