HIGHLIGHTS OF ARGENTINA ITINERARY:
DAY 1: USA or Canada/Buenos Aires, Argentina
Depart on your overnight flight bound for Argentina's
capital, known as "the Paris of South America." As complex as it
is energetic and seductive, this port city has been the gateway
to Argentina for centuries, bringing many porteños (as the
multi-national people are known) into its boundaries. Although
it is reminiscent of Paris, the true spirit of the city is
evident in its diverse neighborhoods - each with a character as
varied as the porteños themselves.
DAY 2: Buenos Aires
Arrive at your hotel and freshen up in your room before
taking a short walk, led by an expert in the area. This evening,
enjoy your welcome dinner at a restaurant in the fashionable
Puerto Madero neighborhood bordering the Río de la Plata - an
ideal venue for getting to know your fellow travellers. Sofitel

DAY 3: Buenos Aires
Visit the sights around the city's central plaza including
the Plaza de Mayo, the Casa Rosada, the Cabildo and the
Metropolitan Cathedral. Stop at the colorful La Boca district,
settled by Italian immigrants who worked the area's meat packing
plants and warehouses. This afternoon, enjoy lunch in the
fashionable neighborhood of Recoleta. Learn the basic tango
steps at a traditional café and attend a professional
performance after dinner. Sofitel Buenos Aires B L D
DAY 4: Buenos Aires/Mendoza
This afternoon fly to Mendoza, the heart of Argentina's wine
region. Travel to your unique wine-estate hotel, nestled in a
vineyard with the magnificent Andes Mountain range as a
backdrop. Cavas Wine Lodge B D
DAY 5: Mendoza
Spend your day exploring three local vineyards, sampling the
wines and enjoying lunch, before returning to your hotel.
Wineries (bodegas) have existed here since colonial times, and
many are rich in history and heritage. Straddling the
snow-capped Andes, Mendoza's wineries are set in some of the
most spectacular scenery in South America. This evening enjoy a
massage at the spa at your lodge. Cavas Wine Lodge B L D
DAY 6: Mendoza/Bariloche
Travel to Bariloche, a world-renowned resort town famous for
its chocolate shops and restaurants, as well as a
picture-postcard Alpine setting that has earned it the nickname
"Little Switzerland." The region offers wonderful photo
opportunities, where nature mixes a palette of rich greens and
blues into a myriad of streams and lakes framed by snow-capped
peaks and lightly clouded skies. Llao Llao Hotel & Resort B L D

Peninsula and Lopez Bay, and ride the Cerro Campanario
chairlift, which offers spectacular views of the valley below.

DAY 8: Bariloche
Today is at leisure to enjoy the optional activities at your
hotel. Located in the National Park of Nahuel Huapi, it has
panoramic lake and mountain views. Engage in golf, fly fishing,
horseback riding, mountain biking and swimming. You may also
take an aerobics or yoga class in the fitness center or perfect
your salsa, tango or flamenco moves with a lesson from an expert
instructor. Alternatively, relax with a soothing treatment at
the resort's exclusive spa or stroll through the exquisite
shopping arcade. Llao Llao Hotel & Resort B
DAY 9: Bariloche/Iguazú Falls
Journey from Bariloche to lush Iguazú National Park, a vast
forest of Brazilian walnut, cedar and peroba trees and home to
the macaw, monkey, crocodile, armadillo and jaguar. The cascades
of Iguazú Falls spread across a gulf of nearly two miles,
creating one of the greatest natural spectacles on earth. Iguazú
Grand Hotel B L D

catwalks leading along and above the falls. Sprays shoot up with
a vengeance and appear both mesmerizing and hypnotic. Beautiful
flowers, ferns, tropical plants, butterflies and exotic birds
