DAY 1: USA or Canada/Quito, Ecuador
Arrive in Quito this evening and transfer to your hotel for

DAY 2: Quito
This morning's sightseeing begins with a visit to the
Equatorial monument - an irresistible opportunity to straddle
both hemispheres. Return to Quito for a city tour and marvel at
the city's ornate churches, cathedrals and baroque architecture.

DAY 3: Quito/the Galápagos
This morning fly via coastal Guayaquil to the Galápagos
archipelago, where you board 'Eclipse,' your home for the
seven-night cruise that forms the heart of your itinerary.
Settle in, listen to an introductory briefing and become

DAYS 4-9: The Galápagos
Your exact itinerary is subject to weather, water and
wildlife conditions, but visits are planned for the main islands
and their landmarks: Pinnacle Rock on Bartolomé Island, Punta
Espinosa on Fernandina Island, Gardner Bay and Punta Suarez on
Española, the volcanoes of Isabela Island and the Charles Darwin
Research Station on Santa Cruz Island. Land in pangas (rubber
boats) to explore rocky beaches and eerie volcanic landscapes
speckled with cacti and sleeping sea lion. Find penguin, great
colonies of marine iguana and their land-going cousins, pelican,
booby and sea turtle. With little experience around people,
wildlife in the Galápagos regards you with curiosity rather than
fear. Your naturalist guides are always on hand to answer
questions and give you greater insight into this remarkable
ecosystem.

DAY 10: The Galápagos/Quito
Disembark today and return to Quito for a festive farewell
