WEE DRAM JOURNEY ABOARD 'THE
ROYAL SCOTSMAN' ITINERARY:
Day One: Edinburgh - Dundee - Stirling
The Royal Scotsman departs Edinburgh Waverley early
afternoon, and travels north across the Firth of Forth by
means of the magnificent Forth Railway Bridge. This is one
of the first cantilever bridges, designed and built by
Benjamin Baker in the late 1880s. It is considered one of
the greatest achievements of the Victorian Age, and known as
the eighth wonder of the world.
Enjoy your afternoon tea as you journey through the former
Kingdom of Fife and across the Tay Bridge to Dundee where
you will disembark to visit Glamis Castle and gardens, seat
of the Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, and childhood home
of the late HM Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother.
You rejoin the train and travel through the Kingdom of Fife,
of which Macduff was once Thane, before stabling in Perth.
After a formal dinner you can enjoy entertainment in the
Observation Car.
Day Two: Perth - Edinburgh
Departing from Perth this morning you return to Edinburgh
where your journey ends.
PRIVATE AND CORPORATE CHARTERS
We can offer a variety of charter programmes, either
based on our standard journeys or a fully customised

As the name suggests, this is a rewarding way to experience The
Royal Scotsman for those with less time. Your journey takes you
over the Forth Railway Bridge to Dundee for a private view of
Glamis, seat of the Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and
childhood home of the late HM The Queen Mother. Afterwards
travel through the Kingdom of Fife to Stirling where you enjoy a
formal dinner and entertainment before returning to Edinburgh
the next morning.
Your Carriage Awaits...
To step aboard The Royal Scotsman train is to step into a
different world. Here luxury, civility and gracious hospitality
evoke gentler times; the romantic age of travel when getting
there was as much fun as arriving. Join us for a journey through
ancient mountains and mysterious lochs, golden glens and
charming villages.
The majestic landscape of Scotland seduces all who visit. In its
sweeping hills, stunning coastlines, and rugged moorland, the
land conjures up irresistible images of romance and derring-do;
of stirring times and enduring legends. Today, the Highlands of
Scotland is one of the most tranquil, unhurried corners of the
world, a place where time stands still as you gaze upon mile
after mile of unspoilt natural beauty.
Unhurried is a word that sits beautifully on The Royal Scotsman.
Here in sheer luxury; sumptuous, refined surroundings, you feel
all the world like an honoured guest at a private party. And, of
course, you are. With a maximum of only 36 guests aboard at any
one time, you have plenty of space, time and encouragement to do
as you please. Enjoy the company of others, sit idly with a good
book or simply let the beauty passing by your window wash over
you. On your train tour with us, there'll be time enough to
enjoy something a little more active.
Of Welcomes and Adieux...
On The Royal Scotsman nothing is too much trouble. From the
moment our piper welcomes you aboard in Edinburgh, to the moment
you return to this historic city, you'll be in the very best of
hands, on the very best of trains.
Place yourself in our care, aboard the finest luxury train in
the world.
