VARANASI EXTENSION ITINERARY:
DAY 1: Delhi/Varanasi
Today, transfer to the Delhi airport and board your flight
for the holy city of Varanasi. This evening visit the ghats on
the Ganges and witness the evening Aarti ceremony. Taj Ganges
DAY 2: Varanasi
This morning enjoy a city tour including the Bharat Mata and
Durga Temples and Banaras Hindu University. This afternoon visit
the fascinating city of nearby Sarnath, filled with Buddhist
monuments. Sarnath is as holy to the Buddhists as Varanasi is to
the Hindus. Here you witness the ruins of a once flourishing
Buddhist monastery and then visit a fine museum which houses an
excellent collection of Buddhist art and sculpture. Taj Ganges B
DAY 3: Varanasi/Delhi/Depart
Take an early morning boat ride on the River Ganges to see
burning and bathing ghats. For the devout Hindu, Varanasi, the
holiest and oldest living city in India, must be visited at
least once in a lifetime to wash away sins. This afternoon
transfer to the airport to board your flight to Delhi to connect
to your onward flight. B
