DAYS 1-2: USA or Canada/Shanghai, China

DAY 3: Shanghai
Walk along the Bund, the city's waterfront promenade, and in Old Town, explore Shanghai's Science and Technology Museum. Tonight visit the entertainment district of Xiantiandi and attend a welcome dinner. Portman Ritz-Carlton B L D

DAY 4: Shanghai/Zhujajiao/Shanghai
Travel to Zhujajiao, a "water village" with stone bridges and buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Your afternoon is at leisure, and the day ends with a performance by the Shanghai Acrobatic Circus. Portman Ritz-Carlton B L

DAY 5: Shanghai/Guilin
Visit the Shanghai Zoo and then fly to Guilin. Travel by traditional Chinese boat on the Li River to watch the cormorant birds' fi shing performance. Sheraton Guilin B L

DAY 6: Guilin/Yangshuo/Guilin
After breakfast cruise the Li River and explore Yangshuo by bicycle. This evening attend a song and dance show. Sheraton Guilin B L

DAY 7: Guilin/Chengdu
Explore the Guilin caves and visit a local farming village en route to Chengdu. Sheraton Chengdu Lido Hotel B L

DAY 8: Chengdu
Visit the Panda Research Center and the Tea House in People's Park. Tonight's performance of wizardry is the King of the Changing Face. Sheraton Chengdu Lido Hotel B L

DAY 9: Chengdu/Xian
Fly to Xian to visit the Tomb of Qin Shihuangdi with its amazing terra cotta warriors and learn to make pottery armies. A Tang Dynasty show ends an exciting day. Shangri-La Hotel B L D

DAY 10: Xian/Beijing
Sightseeing in Xian includes the Ancient Gate of the city walls, the Shaanxi Museum and the Stone Tablets Forest. Then fl y to Beijing. Grand Hyatt Beijing B L

DAY 11: Beijing
Explore the historic Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Travel by pedicab (or pedal yourself) through the historic hutong district. Grand Hyatt Beijing B L

DAY 12: Beijing
After a morning tai chi class at the Great Wall, visit the Temple of Heaven where you can fl y kites (subject to weather conditions) before cocktails and a special farewell dinner at a local restaurant. Grand Hyatt Beijing B L D
