ST. PETERSBURG EXTENSION
ITINERARY:
DAY 1: St. Petersburg/Pushkin/St. Petersburg
Drive into the countryside for a visit to Catherine's Palace
at Pushkin, with its recently reconstructed Amber Room and
landscaped grounds. After lunch in a traditional izba with
folkloric entertainment, continue to Pavlovsk Palace, Emperor
Paul I's summer residence. Grand Hotel Europe L
DAY 2: St. Petersburg/Petrodvorets/St. Petersburg
Travel to Petrodvorets, also known as Peterhof, the grand
summer palace of Czar Peter the Great, with its elaborate Grand
Cascade of bronze sculptures, fountains and water jets. Return
to St. Petersburg by hydrofoil for an afternoon at leisure.

DAY 3: St. Petersburg
Visit the Church on Spilled Blood, built on the site where
Alexander II was assassinated in 1881, and the Peter and Paul
Fortress, a former political prison with a cathedral containing
the tombs of the Romanov dynasty. The afternoon is at leisure
for further exploration. Grand Hotel Europe B
DAY 4: Depart St. Petersburg
Transfer to the airport. B
