
BUDAPEST, VIENNA & PRAGUE - A FAMILY
HOLIDAY ITINERARY:
DAY 1-2: USA or Canada/Budapest, Hungary
Depart on an overnight flight to Budapest. On arrival you
are met and transferred to your centrally located hotel.
Following an afternoon at leisure, meet your fellow
travelers for a welcome drink and dinner. InterContinental

DAY 3: Budapest
Explore Budapest's lower town of Pest, including the
Parliament Building, St. Stephen's Basilica, Heroes' Square,
Dohany Synagogue and the Opera House. This afternoon in
Buda, on the other side of the river, visit Castle Hill's
Matthias Church, the Fishermen's Bastion and the Buda Castle
Labyrinth, a maze of prehistoric caves. After a dinner of
Hungarian specialties at a local restaurant, cruise the

DAY 4: Budapest/Szentendre/Vienna
Take a scenic ride on the Children's Railway, an
operation run by children but supervised by adults. Continue
by coach to the artists' colony of Szentendre to visit the
Hungarian Open Air Museum, commemorating 18th- and
19th-century rural life. Take part in a hands-on
demonstration on the art of marzipan fi gure making before
continuing to Vienna for an ŕ la carte dinner at your hotel.

DAY 5: Vienna
Stroll through the city center to the 12th century St.
Stephen's Cathedral and the Hofburg Complex, the former
residence of the Habsburg family, to view the glittering
crown jewels and an impressive collection of weapons and
suits of armor. After an afternoon at leisure, dine ŕ la
carte at one of A&K's recommended restaurants. Le Méridien

DAY 6: Vienna/Schönbrunn/Vienna
Vienna is famous as the home of Mozart, Beethoven and
Strauss. Visit the House of Music, a modern interactive and
hands-on museum, where you have the opportunity to conduct a
virtual Vienna Philharmonic orchestra or compose your own
waltz.
Continue to Prater Park to ride the historic Ferris wheel.
After lunch at a traditional Tyrolean restaurant, explore
the sprawling Palace of Schönbrunn, the summer home of the
Habsburgs. End the day with a private Marionette Theater

DAY 7: Vienna/Prague
Travel by train to Prague with a picnic lunch onboard.
Stroll through the Old Town's cobbled streets to Old Town
Square, with its famous 16th-century astronomical clock
outside the Town Hall, and the 14th-century Charles Bridge.
Pause for refreshments at the art nouveau Municipal House
before returning to your hotel by horse-drawn carriage. This

DAY 8: Prague
Explore Castle Hill with a private visit to the library
of the 12th-century Strahov Monastery. Then wander through
the cloisters of the Loreto Church and see "Good King"
Wenceslas' fi nal resting place at St. Vitus Cathedral
before visiting the Museum of Miniature. Go beyond the city
limits this afternoon to a glassworks factory for a
demonstration by skilled Bohemian craftsmen. This evening
board a vintage tram to the "Dancing Building" for a

DAY 9: Prague
Learn about Bohemian cuisine with a cooking lesson and
an opportunity to source the ingredients for the popular
Czech dishes you prepare. The afternoon is at leisure before
