'COLIBRI':
CANAL DU MIDI ITINERARY:BÉZIERS TO
CARCASSONNE
SUNDAY
Meet at 4:00 pm at the Béziers hotel chosen by the
charter group and transfer to 'Colibri' for welcome
apéritifs. Cruise slowly through the vineyards near
Colombiers before a welcome dinner on board.
MONDAY
After breakfast, visit Oppidum d'Ensérune, inhabited
since 800 BC. Then pass through one of the oldest tunnels in
France at Malpas during the cruise to Capestang. After time
to explore the small town, cruise to Argeliers for dinner
ashore this evening.
TUESDAY
Visit the bustling markets and historic sites of ancient
Narbonne today, followed by an afternoon cruise to the
pretty village of Le Somail. At Ventenac, enjoy a wine
tasting at the quayside château.
WEDNESDAY
Today, stroll the beautiful gardens at the Abbaye de
Fontfroide, a tranquil setting with more than 3,000 rose
bushes. Then cruise to Homps for a wine tasting before
another wonderful dinner on board 'Colibri.'
THURSDAY
Visit the Cathar fort and hilltop village of Minerve. In
the afternoon, cruise past Puicheric to relax in a bucolic
setting. Dine ashore at a beautiful château, followed by an
evening arrival at Carcassonne to view the fortified city by
night.
FRIDAY
Tour La Cité, the old town of Carcassonne, wonderfully
preserved to look much as it did in the Middle Ages. Then
cruise through Trèbes to a quiet location for this evening's
farewell dinner.
SATURDAY
After breakfast, transfer to the charter group's hotel of
choice in Carcassonne.
CARCASSONNE TO CASTELNAUDARY

Note: Routes are run in reverse on alternate weeks.
