HIGHLIGHTS OF NEW ZEALAND & AUSTRALIA ITINERARY:
DAYS 1-2: USA or Canada/Auckland,
Depart on an overnight flight to New Zealand, crossing the
International Date Line and "losing" a day, regained on your
homebound trip.
DAY 3: Auckland
On arrival, your room is available for immediate occupancy
and you're free to relax for the remainder of the morning. This
afternoon, set off for an overview of the city from the summit
of Mount Eden before a special local guest joins you for a
peaceful cocktail cruise on Waitemata Harbor. Langham Hotel

DAY 4: Auckland/Rotorua
Drive south through beautiful farmland, stopping en route
for a private lunch at a local deer farm. Head to Rotorua, New
Zealand's Maori heartland, where the earth's crust is so thin
its molten heart bubbles and steams at the surface. This evening
visit bubbling mud pools and spouting geysers before enjoying an
authentic Hangi dinner, a traditional Maori feast. Millennium

DAY 5: Rotorua/Queenstown
After a morning walk in the Redwood Forest, fly to
Queenstown on the South Island, where your evening is at
leisure. Dine at one of A&K's recommended restaurants. Sofitel

DAY 6: Queenstown/Milford Sound/Queenstown
Set off this morning along the shores of Lake Wakatipu on a
spectacular drive through stunning scenery, with a stop at Te
Anau for morning tea. Arrive in Fiordland National Park in time
for a luncheon cruise of majestic Milford Sound, returning to
Queenstown by road or on a spectacular scenic flight (a

DAY 7: Queenstown
A full day to relax. Many optional activities are available
in the area, including whitewater rafting, a Dart River jet-boat
safari, or, for the truly adventurous, a bungee jump where the
"sport" was invented.

DAY 8: Queenstown/Christchurch
Ride the Skyline Gondola and have lunch at a local
restaurant before a flight to Christchurch. The George B L

DAY 9: Christchurch/Sydney, Australia
After a morning tour, drift in a punt along the tree-lined
River Avon. Travellers returning to the USA or Canada fly home
from Christchurch. Those travelling onward continue with a

DAY 10: Sydney
Begin with a private tour of the famous Sydney Opera House.
Cruise the harbor on a private chartered vessel with lunch on

DAY 11: Sydney/Melbourne
Fly to Melbourne, where an afternoon tour reveals an elegant
city renowned for its magnificent parks, art district and
historic Victorian architecture. Dine at your choice of one of

DAY 12: Melbourne
Visit Serendip Park, whose wetlands and open grassy
woodlands are home to wild kangaroo and koala. Join an Aborigine
for music and stories during an Aussie Bush lunch in the park.

DAY 13: Melbourne/Hayman Island
Fly to Hamilton Island and transfer by luxury launch to
Hayman Island, in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Hayman

DAY 14: Great Barrier Reef
Spend the day on the water, exploring this world-renowned
coral landscape. Snorkel gear and wetsuits are included, with an

DAY 15: Hayman Island
The day is free for a myriad of optional activities, or
choose to relax at one of the resort's huge swimming pools.
Tonight, enjoy an "Aussie-style" farewell dinner. Hayman Island

DAY 16: Hayman Island/Sydney
Return by launch to Hamilton Island to board your flight to
Sydney, with a final evening at leisure to relax, explore or, if
you wish, attend a performance at the Sydney Opera House (an

DAY 17: Sydney/USA or Canada
Take advantage of time left for last-minute shopping, before
your departure flight takes you back across the Date Line toward
