WINGS OVER TANZANIA ITINERARY:
DAYS 1-2: USA or Canada/Arusha, Tanzania
Depart by overnight flight to Arusha and transfer to your
lodge. The Arusha Coffee Lodge is situated on a working coffee

log fireplaces, private lounges and large balconies overlooking
Mount Meru and the plantation. Arusha Coffee Lodge
DAYS 3-4: Arusha/Tarangire National Park
Spend the next two days in Tarangire National Park. Your
accommodations at Swala Camp are spacious tents built on raised
decks under an umbrella of acacia trees. The layout is very open
with resident herds of impala often grazing in camp. After
settling in, you embark on an afternoon game drive. Tarangire is
home to large herds of eland, oryx, wildebeest and zebra, along
with a sizable elephant population. With eight distinct
vegetation zones, the terrain in the park ranges from swamps to
open grasslands and acacia parkland. The Tarangire River runs
through the center of the park and provides a year-round supply
of water to the thirsty animals. Bird watching is exceptional in
the park's diverse habitats, and you may spot a bateleur or
martial eagle. Gather tonight for a welcome cocktail and dinner
with your fellow travellers.
** During your stay, you may have the opportunity to visit a
primary school or beekeeping project in the local village.

DAY 5: Tarangire National Park/Ngorongoro Crater
Today you fly to Lake Manyara and continue by road to quaint
Gibb's Farm, where you stop for a farm-fresh lunch. Here you
will have the opportunity to enjoy an optional forest walk with
a trained naturalist to discover elusive birds and experience a
bit of local culture or have a tour of the coffee farm.
You will then continue on to the Ngorongoro Crater, a huge
natural "amphitheater" created by the collapse of an ancient
volcano. Inside the crater's walls live a fascinating microcosm
of East African wildlife, from buffalo to flamingo, lion to
leopard. As you drive up the scenic flanks of the Ngorongoro
highlands, you have the opportunity to visit a Maasai village
before reaching your camp, perched on the rim of the crater with
spectacular views across this 2,000 foot deep natural
amphitheater.
Your camp staff is waiting to welcome you. After settling in,
you can spend the evening listening to the night sounds of the
African bush all around you.

most fascinating wildlife areas. Avoid the hustle and bustle of
the assigned picnic sites in Ngorongoro Crater and instead enjoy
a private setting for your A&K-hosted Out of Africa hot gourmet
lunch, prepared by your camp staff. Later, enjoy a private
performance by Maasai dancers at your tented camp in the
Ngorongoro Crater.

DAY 7: Ngorongoro Crater/Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, board a flight to Serengeti National Park,
Tanzania's largest and most famous national park. As the
southern part of a vast expanse of plains land shared with Kenya
(where it is known as the Masai Mara), the Serengeti supports
one of the largest concentrations of wildlife in the world. It
is home to dozens of species including antelope, hyena, leopard,
giraffe, lion, buffalo and cheetah. Each year, the Serengeti is
the scene of the spectacular wildebeest and zebra migration. The
sight of so many animals, from the air or on the ground, is
spectacular. At the end of the day, enjoy sundowner cocktails on
a kopje (rocky outcrops, like islands in the flat land)
overlooking the Serengeti plain, before returning to camp with
thrilling memories of life in the bush. Kusini Camp B L D
DAY 8: Serengeti
You have a full day of morning and afternoon game viewing
here in the Serengeti, a vast region that has been a protected
animal refuge since 1929 and whose keepers maintain a commitment
to its preservation. The name Serengeti creates powerful images
of one of the last remaining wildlife spectacles on earth. Those
lucky enough to visit this wilderness area come away with
memories of vast herds of antelope feeding on the plains. Rivers
flow through the park, providing habitats for a variety of
birds, mammals and reptiles. This evening, join your fellow
travellers for a memorable "Farewell to Africa" dinner. This is
a perfect opportunity to toast your journey, swap stories and
share experiences as night deepens around you. Kusini Camp
