FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS |
What is the climate like?
During the summer months of June through September,
temperatures in the day average between 80 and 90 degrees
Fahrenheit, and dip down to 60 degrees Fahrenheit at night. In
the summer, the weather is generally sunny and clear, with the
occasional rain shower.
How strenuous are the activities?
While this adventure is not considered physically strenuous,
most days will include two or more hours of city walking. While
in Washington, D.C., the adventure includes a gentle bicycle
ride through the National Mall (mostly traffic-free).
Temperatures may be hot and often humid, so wear cool clothing
and a hat, and drink plenty of water. While nearly all of the
trip's featured activities are gentle if examined separately,
the full range of activities requires a moderate amount of
stamina in order to get the most of your vacation.
What ages are appropriate for this adventure?
While we welcome children ages 4 and up at the time of
travel to discover the stories of the world with us, we
recommend that children be at least 5 years old at the time of
travel on our Spirit of America trip. This is based on several
factors, such as the duration of the vacation and amount of
physical activity (e.g., walking, biking) involved. Because each
child is different, call a Concierge Agent to discuss whether
this is the right trip for your kids.
